Distance: 8.5 miles round trip to all 4 lakes. Elevation gain from Clayburn trailhead to Warm Springs Saddle= +180' - 190' = -10' with average grade of 5%. Elevation gain from Warm Springs Saddle to Hard Butte lake= + 480' - 0' with average grade of 9%.
Access: Goose lake / Brundage Mountain road (#257) from Hwy 55. Park at the Clayburn trailhead at about 27 miles, which is the end of the road. Take trail 347 for about 2 miles (ATV trail) to the Warm Springs Saddle, the trail then splits three ways. The one to the left will take you to Rainbow lake and is the only ATV trail that continues from there. The one in the middle takes you to Upper Twin lake at about 9/10th's mile and just over a 1 mile to Hard Butte lake. Lower Twin lake is off the trail to the right before reaching Upper Twin. The trail to the rigth at Warm Springs Saddle will take you to Partridge Creek lake at distance of about 8/10th's mile but trail faids in and out and is difficult to follow. Overall from the Warm Springs Saddle to Upper Twin lake, Hard Butte lake, to an overlook above Partridge Creek lake, back down to Lower Twin lake and then to Partridge Creek lake and back to the Warm SPrings Saddle was 4.5 miles, for a total of 8.5 miles from the Clayburn trailhead.
